Featured Adoptable Pets
Periodically, unique animals find their way into our community of shelters.
They may have special needs, be depressed living the shelter life (and
who wouldn't be?), or simply have great personalities that need an opportunity
to shine. Here we have highlighed a few of those residents.
If you are interested in any of our featured adoptables, please contact
the group or person noted in his/her biography brief.
DOGS
PATCHES
This is what her foster parents had to say about her...
Patches is a beautiful 2 year year old Beagle mix. She is up to date on her needles and is spayed.
When Patches arrived at my house, she was a scared, very nervous and defensive dog, but with a lot of patience, she slowly began to change her ways. She now loves to play, go for walks, lazy around, and swimming. She loves to play with my golden retriever, they get along great. She knows her basic commands, sit, down, and paw. She loves getting on the bed and couch, but will not get up unless she is called. She has to work on her come command as beagles are known to wander. She has gotten away a few times, but always came back. Patches has a lot to offer to someone who has the time to show her the affection she deserves. Patches is still nervous when strangers are around, but we are working with her and a trainer on this and has improved so much since we got her. it will take a special person who is willing to spend time and have patience with Patches, as she has a history of people treating her bad. It will take Patches some time before she trusts her new owners and surroundings.
I've had Patches for while now and love her company. I really don't want her to go, but I am willing to allow people to come visit her in my house to see how she interacts with us and our dog, you will love her too!

CATS
10 yr old neutered male cat in need of a home ASAP. On his own is very lovely with a very nice temperment and in excellent
health and I feel would thrive for many more years if placed in a home on his own, without being stressed
by the presence of other male cats.
Please email myersp@ns.sympatico.ca for more information.
